News!

Last Wednesday I read the entirety of the webcomic Digger, which [livejournal.com profile] odditycollector told me is brilliant, and it is for all the reasons she described. It took me a few pages to get into--she tried to get me to read it ages ago, and I got bored on, like, page two.

I'm a little bit at loose ends, media-wise. I haven't been quite up to my stacks of back issues, and last week I watched the entire second season of Spectacular Spider-Man which was a lot of fun. Osborns! Also, crazy ass high school romantic drama, which is not usually my thing, but pretty enjoyable here. It's not quite a replacement for the on-hiatus Brave and the Bold, but it was something.

And now it's ALL GONE and I don't have a cartoon. :(

But! I've been reading All Star Companion vol. 3 which has a bunch of miscelaneous articles, mostly on Silver Age and Bronze Age JSA and Earth-2 stuff. And an article featuring Roy Thomas's fanfic, which, <3333333333333333333333333 ROY. Seriously, he's the most ADORABLE PROFESSIONAL FANBOY EVER.

Oh, and speaking of Roy Thomas' fanfic, he's got some more coming out tomorrow: here's the preview for his Sub-Mariner Comics 70th Anniversary Special. *is excited!*

(Which makes sense for the Sub-Mariner at least. They put out a CAPTAIN AMERICA 70th Anniversary Special two weeks ago, which, guys, wait until 2011! The character's only 68!)

And of especial interest to [livejournal.com profile] unloveablehands: one of the articles in the All-Star Companion mentioned some Silver Age appearances of TNT and Danny the Dyna-Mite that I don't think we knew about. Super Friends 12 and Superman Family 190, which present versions of the characters different from the Young All-Stars ones. Which is to say, TNT isn't dead. (Different earths and all that.) Check 'em out!
