Icon pairing meme

It's going 'round again, and I've got enough new icons since the last time that I thought I'd give it another try. Instructions, for anyone who missed it previously: make a list of the characters in your icons, alphabetize them, and then pair them up in order.

Barry Allen (Flash II) / Bizarros [unnamed]
Clearly this comes from a Silver Age in an ever-so-slightly alternate universe, where putting the Flash on the cover kissing a Bizarro Superman and making the writer explain it will *not* get alternate Julie Schwartz in trouble with the Comics Code Authority.

Bizarro-Loises [unnamed] / Michael Jon Carter (Booster Gold)
Booster would *totally* hit on the Bizarro-Loises. They'd probably think he was too perfect, though (and he'd be forced to agree!)

Snapper Carr / Ch'p (Green Lantern)
AWWWWWWWWWWWW.

Bea DaCosta (Fire) / Lyrl Dox (Brainiac 3)
Run, Bea, run!

Querl Dox (Brainiac 5)/ Tim Drake (Robin III)
[livejournal.com profile] __marcelo should write this. They would get along terrifyingly well, or possibly terrifyingly poorly.

Nick Fury (Agent of SHIELD) / Guy Gardner (Green Lantern, Warrior)
I'm not at all sure how this would go, but I kind of wanna see it anyway.

General Glory / G'nort Esplanade G'neeshmacher (Green Lantern)
This would be comedy GOLD, except for the part where it would also be really, *really* annoying. Glory would probably try to call G'nort "Liberty" (after his usual dog sidekicks).

Barbara Gordon (Oracle, Batgirl) / Guardians [unnamed]
This would be AWESOME. Battling omniscence! Commiserating over misbehaving operatives! Pretty soon they would be dividing the universe between them. :D

Jim Hammond (Golden Age Human Torch) / Roy Harper (Arsenal, Speedy)
I'm sure they could get on just fine, but I can't say I've any particular interest in seeing it.

Hank Heywood III (Steel II) / Itty
Clearly Hank needs a cute little alien to make up for the fact that his life ROYALLY SUCKS. Grampa Steel would probably try to disect Itty, though. (And timeline-wise, Itty was through adolescence and on to being something much less cute by this point, but *handwave*.)

The Joker / J'onn J'onzz
So very much NOT a good idea.

Hal Jordan (Green Lantern, etc.) / Tom Kalmaku (Pieface)
Actually a good idea! No crack here, folks.

Jack Knight (Starman VII) / Dinah Lance (Black Canary II)
It is my considered opinion that *all* JSA spawn had a crush on Dinah, although Jack probably pretended he didn't to be different and all.

Lex Luthor / Namor McKenzie (Namor)
WORLDS OF AWESOME. Just. DUDE. Next DC/Marvel crossover event, this needs to HAPPEN.

Tora Olafsdaughter (Ice) / Sylvester Pemberton (Star-Spangled Kid I, Skyman)
They could really be quite cute together, but Syl's probably not *quite* enough of a jerk, and Tora's not *quite* enough inclined to hit Syl for the passion to *really* be there...

Oliver Queen (Green Arrow I) / Steve Rogers (Captain America)
You have NO IDEA how happy this would make me. Just. *enjoys. lots*

Johann Schmidt (Red Skull) / Tony Stark (Iron Man)
This is what happens when Civil War goes horribly, horribly wrong. Moreso than it is already, even.

Karen Starr (Power Girl) / Diana of Themyscira (Wonder Woman)
Fanboy wet dream, as [livejournal.com profile] littledarkvoice put it. *pauses to perv*

Katma Tui (Green Lantern) / Matthew Tyler (Hourman III)
They would have a fascinating "we are not like these humans!" relationship. Complete with exotic alien And future-robot plumbing!

Courtney Whitmore (Star-Spangled Kid II, Stargirl) / Sam Wilson (Falcon)
No romance here; Pat would *kill* him, and half the JSA would be waiting in line for what was left. Anyway, I don't really see either of them interested that way (even if Sam *does* like 'em red, white and blue), but they could have a perfectly good team-up, fight some crime, and bond over hanging out with all those old guys.

Hilda Zemo
Left all by her lonesome. It's what you get for marrying those mad scientists....

AWESOME DC/Marvel crossover there (and it makes Roy/Jim Hammond make sense, even)!

And Tony's probably at *least* as Aryan as, oh, Madame Hydra. Not that I've exactly checked either of their lineages...

See, now in my head I've got this half-assed reasoning why Roy/Jim would work, something about sidekick issues and complimentary color schemes. It'd be worth it just for Ollie's confusion over his protege's romance with an 80-year-old android from another reality. He'd be trying to be so *understanding*...

[identity profile] caiusmajor.livejournal.com 2006-12-06 05:02 pm (UTC)(link)
"And some people like to date 80-year-old androids from another reality! There's NOTHING WRONG WITH THAT!"

*giggles*

Ollie would be relieved when Namor showed up to beat them all up. 80-year-old amphibians trying to *kill* his protege he knows how to deal with.

"One day soon, Roy, humans and androids will be able to marry in Star City, just like anyone else."

"Ollie, for the last time -- we're not getting married!!"

[identity profile] caiusmajor.livejournal.com 2006-12-07 01:16 pm (UTC)(link)
"Not getting married is also a perfectly viable lifestyle choice! I just want for you to *have the option!*

"And if he knocks you up, I *will* come after him for child support."

"Ollie, in case you haven't noticed, he's an ANDROID and I'm MALE!"

"You still have to be careful these days! Especially with androids from *that* reality. You are using protection, right?"
