Randomness...

Well, [livejournal.com profile] greenygal mentioned to me the other night the possibility of a pairing generator that would give random pairings of people in the Lantern, Flash, and Arrow families.

So, I wake up this morning, steal some coding, and this was the result. Advice on further inclusions, exclusions, etc. is greatly appreciated.

As is fic based on any of the pairings so created, although many--perhaps most--of these pairings should *really, really* be interpreted as gen.

they're just the only two whose names I can come up with offhand...

There's also an Englehart character called--ahem--Herupa Hando Hu. Died in Millennium, apparently. The problem with Guardian slash is that, Old-Timer possibly excluded, they all have exactly the same personality...

Added.

Cool. Oh, and I think Connor's ditzy mother, Moonday Hawke, is another candidate. Partly because I think there should be as many moms on here as possible (they need love too :) and partly because the idea of Dinah/Moonday has me cackling hysterically. (You will meet her in #105. It will shortly become obvious why going off to a monastery for five years seemed like such a good idea to Connor.)

Also bookmarked that Flash page

I thought it might come in handy, yeah. Hmm. Wonder if that and the GL Corps site could be listed on the generator page, so people who don't recognize a name could go look if they were so inclined? Unfortunately the GA site, wonderfully comprehensive as it otherwise is, really doesn't have character bios...

I wasn't sure where on the site to look...

Yeah, see above about the bios. :( I just skimmed through the reviews until I hit a name.

But if I listed him as "Francis" even *fewer* people would know who I meant...

Although they'd be less likely to confuse him with Ch'p. ;) Okay, okay, anybody who knows who Ch'p is probably also knows who Chip is, I just think it's funny.

I'm not sure how one would manage to introduce them, though, or what else they would have to talk about.

Well, as we don't know where either of them is at present there'd be no problem with them bumping into each other on the street. I admit that they probably would not be wearing signs saying "I am a rejected worshipper of Green Lantern/Green Arrow, but the thought of them getting together to talk about it is so entertaining I'm tempted to ignore that... (For parity, I suppose they should be joined by Magenta or Christina (http://www.hyperborea.org/flash/christina.html), but then you'd have problems with the going violently insane and trying to kill them...)

There's also an Englehart character called--ahem--Herupa Hando Hu.

Has been added, if only for the *name*! Actually, the Secret Origin story tells us that he can be distinguished by being the youngest (or at least *one* of the youngest) Guardian, by being raised by *Krona*, and (unfortunately for the sake of Guardianslash) by having a LTR of sorts with a Zamaron that goes way back.

Considered including her (Nadia Safir) but she may be just too obscure...

Cool. Oh, and I think Connor's ditzy mother, Moonday Hawke, is another candidate.

Added. Along with Nathan Hawke, because I think the list *also* needs more grandfathers, and because I liked him in 108. And perhaps primarily because the GL and Flash families outnumber the Lanterns.

In the process, the generator attempted to hook up Linda and Eddie.

And the first person it came up with for Herupa was *Guy Gardner*, and for Nathan Hawke? Arisia.:)

(You will meet her in #105. It will shortly become obvious why going off to a monastery for five years seemed like such a good idea to Connor.)

I look forward to it. I've had a few inklings about Moonday already...

Wonder if that and the GL Corps site could be listed on the generator page, so people who don't recognize a name could go look if they were so inclined?

A *wonderful* idea.

Okay, okay, anybody who knows who Ch'p is probably also knows who Chip is, I just think it's funny.

So did I. There's a reason they're listed next to each other in the source code...:)

I admit that they probably would not be wearing signs saying "I am a rejected worshipper of Green Lantern/Green Arrow, but the thought of them getting together to talk about it is so entertaining I'm tempted to ignore that...

True...I dunno, they sorta exist in separate worlds to me.

(For parity, I suppose they should be joined by Magenta or Christina, but then you'd have problems with the going violently insane and trying to kill them...)

*snort* Well, maybe you could give Chip and Marianne powers and they could have a "going violently insane and trying to kill people" party.
