3 stories that should be written, the "I spent a day with destroythemeek and read a bunch of DeMatthies and early Gruenwald Cap Issues" edition

Project inspired by jubilancy's post.

1. Sam Wilson's sexuality issues, circa the 70s and/or the comics-time not-actually-70s, in which he tries to figure out how the heck to maintain credibility in his community while coming out as not just a gay or bi man, but a black man in love with a white guy. With bonus Leila, and possibly Cap dealing with his own issues in re: not understanding the seventies and/or sexuality in general.

2. 80s fic in which Arnie Roth explains to Steve that, you know, maybe Steve is, in fact, into dudes, judging from his behavior in that particular time-period.

3. Any or all fic regarding Jack Monroe's friendship or conversations with Arnie Roth. Because the concept of Cap's gay childhood best friend and the temporally-displaced, not terribly PC or with it ex-Bucky of the Fifties is fascinating, if you are me.

The best part is Dugan's PERFECT TEAR.

And also that, apparently, secondhand smoke is not a problem in Fury's brain.

OMG, the perfect emo tear killed me. Dugan' love of Fury is so pure that it moves him to tears. I don't think even Steve/Tony or Cable/Deadpool have a Single Perfect Tear moment. I don't even think any of the canon het couples I follow do.

Of COURSE secondhand smoke is not a problem in Fury's brain! If it were he might have to pay attention to No Smoking signs, and EVEN WORSE, Dum Dum's the one most likely to catch it from him so he'd have to choose between his cigars and his Walrus.

So secondhand smoke is obviously a non-problem.

I fear, yes, that both Sam and Jack are my responsibility in life.

Fury and Dugan are Love. *looks closer* Is Dum Dum actually crying a single, emo tear?

... I have this half-formed ficlet idea where relatively-recently-thawed-out Steve attempts to explain to either Sam or Clint how he is, according to 1930s concepts of sexuality, totally not gay, because he also likes girls, and doesn't act at all feminine, and prefers to be on top (if it is Sam, possibly there should be mutual nudity involved). Then, when whomever it is is done headdesking and/or laughing at him, they will explain modern concepts of sexuality to him. Or, in Clint's case, mock him extensively and accidentally let slip to the rest of the team that "Cap likes guys." Since the rest of the team would consist of Wanda and Pietro at that point, the reaction would be a general lack of interest, possibly with suspicion on Wanda's part that Clint was just trying to get Cap out of the running so he could hit on her more effectively.
