Nick Fury is one of the Marvel U's most dedicated dei ex machina. Want something random and improbable done? Nick (whether as head of SHIELD, underground ex-head of SHIELD, or hell--even Sgt. Fury of the Howling Commandos) can do it! He has the gadgets, he has the skills, he has the sheer All-American manly know-how to get whatever the writers need done, done!
This is, of course, an excellent thing for anyone who wants to write some random superhero sexin'. Or just plain crack, for that matter--whatever works for you.
