The night before last I dreamed, among other things, of super-soldier clones of Sharon Carter and Captain America.
(Most of them went kind of wrong and were missing limbs and things. And they escaped from the mad scientists and formed a superteam! But then they were all wiped out by the nearly perfect clone that had finally been made. It was sad.)
In the dream I decided this was an excellent solution to the Sharon and Peggy Carter chronology problem and was going to write fic about them both being supersoldier clones. Then I was disappointed to wake up and discover that the canon I was basing this dream on didn't really exist.
The same night I was also engaging in
theatrical_muse LARP. It was exciting! I was playing Falc (as per usual) against
likeadeuce as Red Skull (which she has never shown any inclination to play). And we were both looking for
harmonyangel.
Wild night, clearly.
In my daytime hours, I have acquired comics! Although not, fortunately or unfortunately, the ones that came out last week or would have come out today had it not been for New Year's and Diamond's monopoly-induced laziness. I've read a few of those on the computer but really the more exciting development is the SPIDEY SUPER STORIES issue I totally got for $1, at the same place I *also* got a 1977 reprint of Charton's CAPTAIN ATOM #83 featuring Ditko's Ted Kord Blue Beetle.
They were from a really awesome action figure store that had only the one box of comics, and while the action figure display was too overwhelming for me to buy much--okay, I got a cute little Captain America action figure!--but the box was remarkably well-supplied in things Caia cannot resist. Like, on top of that, they had a Cap/Falc issue and a Spider-Man teamup with Falcon.
So I am happy little fangirl.
I also have a Legion Showcase from
littledarkvoice (THANK YOU!) and a A-NEXT digest I got with a Barnes-and-Nobel $10 gift card--there aren't many non-manga trades you can get for less than $10, alas, and the selection wasn't too great, but I've been intending on getting into the MC2 verse anyway. Or, well, ever since I figured out there was a pair of twin girls dressed like 70s Falcon, I have wanted to write fic, but I'm not big into Spider-Girl because I don't like teenagers very much.
A-NEXT is fun, though. They're doing the full-on Avengers homage thing--they have people who are sort of equivalents to Giant-Man, Wasp, Iron Man, and Thor, who get together to fight Loki, and then (as I gather from skimming forward in the digest) their Captain America equivalent shows up in #4 as is proper.
(It's always #4. It's a thing. Cap did it, Ollie did it, even Booster Gold did it!)
To conclude with some completely non-fandom related news, because I simply CANNOT RESIST:
I HAVE A NEW BABY COUSIN. HE IS CUTE. (Or the picture is. I haven't actually gotten to see him because he is in another state.)
