caiusbackup: (Galvatron/Cyclonus)
So, the Fandom Snowflake Challenge. Joining late, so here's part one:

In your own space, post a rec for at least three fanworks that you have created. It can be your favorite fanworks that you've created, or fanworks you feel no one ever saw, or fanworks you say would define you as a creator.

This meme is obviously for people who have a harder time talking about how awesome their fics are than I do. :D I'm going to start with a couple things from my pre-TF fandom past.

The Revenge of Black Tie is one of the first things I wrote in DC fandom, way back in 2004, and I'm still fond of it. It's about the 1970s Justice League of America and their battle with a supervillain who thinks costumed supervillains look ridiculous, and who decides to demonstrate it by...using a ray gun to make Green Arrow and Black Canary switch costumes. :D

After Steve is the last full-length fic I wrote in Marvel fandom, and one that never got a lot of attention. I'd been talking about writing a Sam Wilson/Sharon Carter fic for ages, and I'm glad I did so before I got completely distracted by Transformers.

And the TF stuff:

The Reminder, because Cyclonus/Scourge stuff never gets a lot of attention, and because I'm never not going to be absolutely in love with Cyclonus writing Galvatron's name all over things.

Serendipity is the Daniel Witwicky, Boy Raised by Aliens, fic that I've been threatening to write since I first met Daniel. Admittedly it's one of my better-read fics, but better-read for a good reason, I think, and different from my usual (porny) stuff.

Sanctuary, is Sandstorm/Octane, who are a delight to write, and (I hope) a delight to read.
Meme from [livejournal.com profile] ultharkitty:

If there was a kinky scenario you could request me to write, what would it be? Please be as specific as possible. (No promises, but who knows. Especially if requests can be written as short commentfic in between RL stuff.)

I don't have time to do the WIP meme, but I am terribly curious about this one.
Blame [personal profile] swordage (and [livejournal.com profile] spacehussy) for this. Last night, there was the following twitter exchange:

[personal profile] swordage: story summary seems interesting > story skips the part where the Dcon falls for humanity > Megatron is the OC's mom > [SCREMING]
[personal profile] caiusmajor: @[personal profile] swordage ...was it at least about the OC's terrible horrible mommy issues?
[personal profile] swordage: @[personal profile] caiusmajor No. That would have been awesome. "Mommy I'm scared to sleep, there are monsters." "Show me. I will devour them." "weh ;w;"
[livejournal.com profile] spacehussy @[personal profile] swordage @[personal profile] caiusmajor okay, that would be the best original short story ever. Not even kidding. "SHOW ME. I WILL DEVOUR THEM."
[personal profile] caiusmajor: @[livejournal.com profile] spacehussy @[personal profile] swordage Oh maaaan it would be an awesome children's picture book.

And my brain produced this. Since I'm not an artist, the lavish full-page illustrations for every line are left to the reader's imagination.

In your own space, post a rec for at least three fanworks that you did not create. Drop a link to your post in the comments. See if you can rec fanworks that are less likely to be praised: tiny fandoms, rare pairings, fanworks other than stories, lesser known kinks or tropes. Find fanworks that have few to no comments, or creators new to a particular fandom and maybe aren't well known or appreciated. Appreciate them.

I haven't been active enough lately to know what's new and obscure, so here are some old and (possibly?) obscure things (see warnings in the fic headers):

No reason to cry by Syntia13 is Beast Wars Optimus Primal/Dinobot, and just the pairing makes me squee a lot. I love how this the fic describes the way their relationship develops (more or less directly) from struggle over leadership to an uneasy and unfamiliar (to Primal) sort of relationship.

And by the same author, In a spider web, which is Tarantulas/Cheetor and deeply, wonderfully creepy. It's Tarantulas' POV and describes a terrifying semi-consensual relationship between the two of them.

Untitled Shattered Glass Rodimus/Galvatron by [livejournal.com profile] vani_nessa was written before we had a toy or any canon on SG Galvatron, but damn, do I like this version of him. He and Rodimus reflect each other's issues beautifully.

And of course not to forget the illustration by [livejournal.com profile] puffintalk.

And from Usenet (I forget how I even got linked to this), Emo Boys are Easy by Derik Smith, featuring Dead End and an Emo Boy OC. It's listed as Kiss Players fic, but if Kiss Players had been like THIS I would have tracked it all down enthusiastically.
