Jan. 6th, 2007

Hi, all.

This is not a real life journal, so I will not get into the details of the family madness that kept me semi-to-completely away from the computer from Dec 23-Jan 2, or the virus left me unable to deal with life for several days after that!

Suffice to say that I'm better now, and if I ignored anything you wrote, especially holiday-ficathon-wise, during that timespan, it wasn't you. (Although I was, to some extent, keeping up with my flist during most of that time, I didn't have a whole lot of time or energy for reading or responding.) I may eventually catch up, and will do my best to respond to comments at least soon, but if there's anything that Caia *must see!* but hasn't commented on, please do let me know. :)

Important if belated news: I got Hal/Carol for Yuletide! Perfect, by [livejournal.com profile] lunarknightz, and the title is a quite convenient summation of the feedback. Check it out, guys--Carol gets to fly a plane! [livejournal.com profile] lunarknightz does a wonderful job of modernizing Hal and Carol's silver age relationship, while maintaining the complicated balences of employer/employee and superhero/rescuee that define it and make it interesting.

A repost of my own Yuletide fic to follow shortly. :)

On a completely different note--I met [livejournal.com profile] smittywing's ex, [livejournal.com profile] boutell, in the airport while waiting for a three-hour-delayed flight! Life is awesome sometimes.
Title: Six Letters, the Third One is an A
Author: Caia
Recipient: [livejournal.com profile] miss_gordon for Yuletide.
Summery: Dinah is on vacation. She and Barbara do crossword puzzles, and such. Loose continuity, but about BoP 25 timewise.
Disclaimer: Babs and Dinah belong to DC. Rated R for sexual content.
Acknowledgements: Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] petronelle for excellent beta services, and [livejournal.com profile] ficbyzee and [livejournal.com profile] littledarkvoice for audiencing and hand-holding.
Author's notes: Yuletide being a rare-fandom challenge and all, I of course wrote something more common and generally accessible than I've written, like, ever. The sheer irony of my being assigned Babs is one that should go down for the ages. Despite all that, I'm pretty pleased with what I wrote--except for the part where this is in the Yuletide archive with a really embarrassing typo in the title and also in the story itself; I'm going to see about getting it corrected there, but meanwhile I've corrected it here.

'Quick, what's the capital of Bogatago?' Dinah's line opened up abruptly. )
