Captain America, and such

So
monkeycrackmary has been requesting Captain America/Bucky fic. (and anyone so inclined should rush over and write her some, damnit! also, read mine.) Which reminds me that, not so long ago, I was reading rather a lot of Steve Englehart [aka the OTHER totally pervy GL writer]'s Captain America and the Falcon from the early seventies.
Which is OMIGODSEVENTIES and also OMIGOD THE SLASH! In the way a seventies semi-political buddy comic should be. Plus, it's Captain America, for whom I harbor a sekrit and not very well informed crush, so what's not to like?
There are MANY MANY scans that could be shown from this; however, because the keyboard on my own computer won't be fixed until tomorrow, I'm going to have to restrict myself to stuff I've uploaded already, for one reason or another. (That is to say--some of you will have already seen some of these.)
They have, to begin with, the BEST LETTERCOL NAME EVER: Let's Rap with Cap.
This splash was my first introduction to the series. It takes two people (one with pointy boobs of doom, one with seventies mancleavage of doom) and a bird to escort Cap to his hotel room. Where there's yet someone else waiting for him! MAN, he's a popular guy. (The guy waiting was Nick Fury, and he and Cap proceeded to have a rather tasty fight scene in the hotel room.)
And then there is this REALLY SWEET RESCUE SCENE.

AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW.
There were girls, too, of course. Both Cap and Falc had girlfriends; Falc's black militant girlfriend notably did not APPROVE of Cap. Possibly because he did things like this. This is NOT the only time the Cap/Falc relationship was compared to a marriage, or explicitly denied to be one, although it's the only example I seem to have uploaded.
And...that is the end of my scans, sadly. More later if there's interest.

Date: 2005-08-10 01:49 am (UTC)I . . . there's really no other way to read that. I mean, I could see someone trying valiantly, but . . . I can't see them honestly believing it for a second.
It sounds like the lead-in to massively hot Falcon/Cap PORN is what it sounds like.
AND THE ART IS NOT HELPING.
