[livejournal.com profile] mississippienne asked for Top five things Cap wishes he had told another Avenger. )

(My Avengers knowledge is decidedly spotty still, so these were hard to write, and should not really be considered a *top* five list--there are probably glaringly obvious things I've missed 'cause I haven't read the issues in question.)
TITLE: Just a Little Cold
AUTHOR: Caia
FANDOM/CONTINUITY: Captain America & Avengers, circa 1971-1972. Further notes here.
SUMMARY: A cold is going around. Cap, Falc, and most of the Avengers get it.
WARNINGS: Silver Age-style gen which may be offensive to French people.
NOTES: [livejournal.com profile] cereta posted about colds which inspired [livejournal.com profile] sister_wolf to write fic, which, in turn, inspired me. It was intended to be pure fluff, but a supervillain plot came along for the ride.
ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS: Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] glossing for beta.

Further continuity notes )
It's been longer than it seems like it ought to have been since I last posted, especially since I've, on the whole, been *more* energetic and involved in stuff the past few weeks than most of January.

But I've been running around friending some Marvel fans tonight, so I figured it'd be a good opportunity for some content around here.

My [livejournal.com profile] brains_in_a_jar fic is kicking my ass. [livejournal.com profile] brown_betty just made post about her if-then theory of fanfic, which referenced [livejournal.com profile] thebratqueen's somewhat more famous two-step theory of fic, and between the two I'm sort of realizing why: "What if Captain America were a brain operating a ship?" is sort of a big fucking step, world-building wise. (Rather less so, character-wise, really: if the government needed brains in ships, rather than super soldier-serum guinea pigs, that *would* have been what Steve ended up as.) But I flail a lot at plotting and figuring out just which version of the Marvel U this *takes place* in.

And then I wind up ass-deep in Cosmic Marvel. Okay, partly that's just because I want to learn more about Avengers continuity *and* there was a big sale at the comicshop last week, so I just read through the Kree-Skrull War trade (which has an awesome cover. Skrull cows are one of the best things EVER) and am working on Galactic Storm.

(In between I read the Vision and Scarlet Witch trade, which I wasn't *expecting* to go cosmic on me, but it included the issue where they got married. Which just also happened to be the issue where Mantis marries a sentient alien tree.)
